Results of 2018 Events

We hope you enjoyed today’s Club Championships and the unusual format proved challenging and entertaining. It was great to see so many long standing members encouraging the younger and upcoming members. 

The photographer Steve was an unexpected bonus and got some great action shots. 

There appeared to be one glitch in the planning which caused a problem. (There may have been others we weren’t aware of). On the medium course some runners on picking up their second map turned to part 2 and ran this first. Normally their mistake, disqualified. But as the first control on part 2 was no. 8 and they had just done 7 controls on the ‘score’ part it was an easy mistake to make. And there was no material difference in the distance. So whichever order parts 1 and 2 were taken in, the results stand. 

Our thanks to everyone who helped especially Steve for the registration, download, results and associated technical stuff. It was probably the biggest job of all. Also Rod for updating the map at short notice. Phillip for checking the control sites, Di for printing the maps including a last minute reprint and Mike for refreshments after. 

We were well looked after by the Sports Centre especially reception – nothing was too much trouble. A proper car park, indoor toilets, electricity for the computers and a coffee shop has a lot to recommend it.
